Hong Kong as a fund administration base
Since the Limited Partnership Fund (LPF) Ordinance took effect in 2020, Hong Kong has become an efficient, flexible and tax-friendly base for private equity and venture capital fund administration.
The advantages are concrete: no capital gains tax or stamp duty, no public disclosure of limited partners, flexible capital contributions and profit distribution, direct access to mainland China and RMB liquidity, and a credible alternative to offshore jurisdictions such as the Cayman Islands.
